Activities

TIEMS – IC takes new innovative initiatives, which are the needs of India to become disaster resilient, which are inadequately addressed by other stake holders. TIEMS-IC has undertaken many activities, some of which are listed below.

  • “Why to Better Manage Disasters?” paper by Dr Kailash Gupta of TIEMS-IC is published in WIMWIAN journal of IIM Ahmedabad, June 2019, pp. 75-78

  • Dr. Kailash Gupta of TIEMS-IC designed an elective course on Disaster Management first time in fifty year history of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and instructed 34 participants of Post-graduate Program in Business Administration, Post-graduate Program for Executives in Business Administration, and exchange students from abroad as a Visiting Faculty in 2014-15.

  • TIEMS-IC co-organized the first Workshop on Higher Education in Disaster Management in India with National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and six supporting organization at NIDM, New Delhi on February 10, 2017. A report of the Workshop and papers are available in TIEMS, Newsletter, Special Edition, Issue 6, October 2017.

  • TIEMS-IC made an official statement at the UNISDR Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction, Cancun, Mexico, May 2017.

  • TIEMS-IC start-up innovative idea Operation Resilience, was awarded one of the 10 best in an all India competition by National Disaster Management Authority at the National Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction, at Vighyan Bhawan, New Delhi in May 2017. Operation Resilience was operationalized in 2018 Kerala floods.

  • TIEMS-IC is disaster management partner of world’s greatest free Jaipur Literature Festivals. Jaipur Literature Festivals in emergency evacuation videos at six venues show Disaster Management Partnership of TIEMS-IC with the logo.

  • TIEMS-IC worked proactively and pro bono and got Jaipur selected as one of the 100 Resilient Cities, pioneered by Rockefeller Foundation.
